Selon une étude publiée dans la revue internationale Policy & Internet, 31 % des adolescents consommeraient de la pornographie sur des sites non visés par l’Arcom, l’Autorité de régulation de la communication audiovisuelle et numérique née de la fusion entre le CSA et Hadopi. Au nombre de huit, on trouve, parmi ces sites ne respectant pas la réglementation de contrôle des mineurs Pornhub, Tukif, Xvideos ou encore Xhamster.
« Parce que les adolescents français voient de la pornographie sur un large éventail de plateformes médiatiques, je ne pense pas que restreindre l’accès des moins de 18 ans à seulement huit sites pornographiques dédiés aura beaucoup d’effet », indique dans un communiqué Neil Thurman, auteur principal de l’étude et professeur à la City, University of London et à la CMU de Munich. Et de relever que l’obligation de vérification de l’âge n’aurait d’autre conséquence que le report des consommateurs vers d’autres sites moins restrictifs.
