Dans sa nouvelle croisade pour la protection des données personnelles, la firme à la pomme affiche une forme de transparence sur des rapports de failles que lui auraient transmis des chercheurs anonymes en cybersécurité. Une communication qui sert aussi les intérêts du groupe qui défend son propre écosystème.
Alors qu'Apple est régulièrement sous le feu des critiques d'entreprises en raison de sa stratégie de monopole, la firme américaine opte pour une forme de transparence vis-à-vis de ses utilisateurs. La fabricant de smartphones a recommandé aux possesseurs de certains modèles d'iPhone, de la tablette iPad et de son ordinateur Mac de mettre à jour le logiciel d'exploitation, qui présente une faille de sécurité permettant de prendre le contrôle de ces appareils.
