Les solutions techniques promettant une meilleure vérification de l'âge des internautes s'accumulent. Mais elles génèrent aussi un débat autour de leur fiabilité.
En 1993, un dessin publié dans la revue américaine The New Yorker résumait l'anonymat en ligne à cette petite phrase restée célèbre : "Sur Internet, personne ne sait que vous êtes un chien". Localisation, goûts, visites, recherches sur Google ou ailleurs... Ces traces numériques dessinent de nos jours un profil en ligne qui en dit plus sur vous que vous ne le croyez. Mais dans ce flot d'informations, l'âge d'un internaute reste un détail difficile à déterminer avec précision. Une poignée d'entreprises entendent aujourd'hui y remédier, afin de protéger les mineurs contre des contenus violents ou indésirables qui y circulent...
