La technologie développée par la startup Yoti a été testée pour l’achat de produits soumis à des limites d’âge aux caisses automatiques.
La vérification de l’âge n’est pas seulement utile sur les réseaux sociaux ou les sites pornographiques. Ces technologies peuvent aussi servir dans les supermarchés. Tel a été le cas de l’algorithme de reconnaissance des traits du visage développé par la startup britannique Yoti. Analysant une photo ou une vidéo prise par un individu et en déduire son âge, il est actuellement testé par Instagram dans plusieurs pays et utilisé par le réseau social français Yubo.
